Our Company

Provenance is the first and only service to help couples, officiants and guests design personalized, meaningful, and impressive ceremonies and speeches fit for modern-day weddings. We’ve built a suite of tools that help customize wedding ceremonies, both culturally reflective and secular. Provenance guides couples and officiants through the ceremony planning process from start to ‘I do’ with a ceremony design tool that helps users construct the flow of a ritual; professional speech and vow writing support; and a curated library that provides cultural, legal, and logistical inspiration for weddings.

The rapid decline in organized religion, coupled with an increasing reliance on technology to mediate and validate experience, has created a crisis in meaning: we’ve thrown out the guide book, but don’t know where to go. Enter Provenance, born to create opportunities for making meaning in our modern world.

Your Impact // What You’ll Do

• Directly impact how the product is structured, architected and built – specifically focusing on beautiful and intuitive UI/UX to ensure a stellar user experience. Apply design thinking to lead the creation of, and iteration on, the product
• Provide guidance on the implementation of UX research techniques and testing activities to assess user behavior; perform tests on all user interface elements such as CTAs, layouts, target links, landing pages and banners along with broader value proposition concepts
• Understand product specifications and break down experiences, thoughtfully considering how we might order a design’s implementation – making appropriate trade-offs between cost and polish
• Build prototypes, deliver polished mock-ups, and oversee their pixel-perfect execution all the way to production in collaboration with the Creative Designer and the Product and Engineering team
• Collaborate on the product roadmap by providing and receiving creative/team feedback, building upon others’ creative contributions, and providing clear design goals
• Have the capacity to grow and manage a design team looking into the future

What You Bring

• Deep care about the experiences you create, the products you build, and the people you build them with
• Bias towards action and experience building a 0-1 product
• Excitement for the learnings that come from bold experimentation
• A strong portfolio with diverse examples of your work
• 5+ years of experience working in digital product design
• Proficiency in design tools like Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping software
• Experience working as a member of a remote cross-functional multidisciplinary team, and ideally in a fast paced early stage environment
• Excitement to learn new skills and pitch in, flexing in ways beyond this role’s core responsibilities
