Why is this role unique and exciting?
The Metropolitan Planning Institute (IMPLAN) of Tijuana is working on the development of a Digital Twin, a tool that will be very useful for all municipal agencies where 2D and 3D photorealistic models are representative of reality. It is web, mobile and map based, with digital government forms.

Responsabilities

  • Work as a team in an interdisciplinary way with directors, department heads, web developers, data analysts, geographic information systems analysts and urban planners, among others.
  • Participate in the definition of the strategic level, taking into account the application objectives and goals, incorporate the official institutional image and establish indicators.
  • Research the needs of users, doing segmentations and usability tests.
  • Participate in the definition of scope, functional specifications, content requirements and prioritization.
  • Define the overall structure when performing interaction design and information architecture.
  • Define the skeleton or wireframe, choosing the most appropriate design conventions for the project.
  • Carry out the design of the interface, navigation and information.
  • Carry out the visual and, where appropriate, sensory design, taking care of patterns, contrast, uniformity, as well as internal and external consistency.
  • Apply the color palettes and official typography, or, where appropriate, suggest the appropriate one.
  • Develop design composites or interactive mock-ups that clearly show the general operation of the system.
  • Make the necessary adjustments, which derive from decision making.
  • Create style guides that serve as a reference to continue expanding the functionality of the system.

Requirements

  • Intermediate/conversational spanish required.
  • Bachelor's degree in design, computer science, software development, computer systems, information technology, or similar.
  • 1 year minimum experience in similar UI/UX design positions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and visual design skills.
  • Portfolio of web and mobile projects carried out and/or samples of projects running on the web.
  • Knowledge of various design and problem-solving methods that facilitate the planning of complex projects.
  • Ability to expose your concepts and designs to the parties involved and decision makers.
  • Skill in responsive design for multiple platforms and devices.
  • Mastery of the most used computer software for design, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, and UXPin, among others.
  • General knowledge of the most used programming languages for frontend development, such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Work conditions

  • On-site in Tijuana, Baja California.
  • Urgent requirement, to start as soon as possible.
  • $18,000 net Mexican pesos per month.
  • Working hours from 8:00 to 16:30.
  • Civil service job with full municipal medical coverage.
  • Paid non-working days, Christmas bonus, vacations and vacation premium in accordance with the civil service law of Baja California.
